Marcella's Fight for Her Life

Donation protected
Our dear friend Marcella Rodriguez is fighting for her life from cancer. She is a single mother of an honor roll student named Sophia. Marcella has devoted her life to being a wonderful mom and a good friend to everyone around her. In November 2020, Marcella was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Squamous cancer of the rectum. She underwent numerous procedures including chemotherapy with a lethal drug called mitomycin and 30 days of radiation. She lost all her hair and ended up being hospitalized on her daughter's birthday fighting for her life as her blood count dropped from 6.8 to 1.4 which is deadly. Cedar Sinai Hospital kept her for 13 days as she kept fighting for her life thinking about staying alive for her daughter.

After months of being in and out of the hospital finally, the doctors told her they need to completely take out her rectum, reroute her intestines to her stomach, and give her a permanent colostomy bag. Marcella was devastated, but this was life or death for her and she wanted so desperately to make it to her daughter's high school graduation.

On December 3, 2021, Marcella's entire rectum was removed, her intestines were rerouted to her stomach, and she was given a permanent colostomy bag where her stool would be collected. All the doctors told her that this would be the end of it and she would finally be able to live her life considering all things.

On March 29, 2022, Marcella found out that the cancerous tumor was back, and this time with a vengeance. She has to take immediate action to save her life as the cancerous tumor continues to grow rapidly.  Her only hope at this stage is to be admitted to the Hope for Cancer Institute. This is the only and last option she has to save her life.

Marcella's only wish is to stay alive to be there for her young daughter Sophia. She dreams of seeing Sophia grow up, graduates from college, and get married one day. The only way she will be able to achieve this dream is through the Hope for Cancer Institute. The state-of-the-art treatment facility has shown to be successful for many people like Marcella. It's not cheap and this is why we need your help desperately to donate, please.

If your heart is open and you would like to do something for someone who is in dire need of your help then please know this is it. Please help Save Marcella's Life, so that her daughter Sophia doesn't have to grow up without a mother.
