Hi. I’m Marc, from Marc & The Markrophones… Yes — the one‑man band who plays four instruments at once, like a rocking octopus (a “rock-topus”). And today, I come to you with a situation so direly catastrophic and aggressively stupid that it deserves its own Maury episode.
My RV — my home, my studio, my tour bus, my emotional support rectangle — has lost the ability to stop. Not “stops poorly.” Not “stops eventually.” No. It stops the way a toddler listens: it doesn’t.

These two crucial parts didn’t just fail. They perished. They ascended. They flatlined harder than Frogger under a freight truck. Now, when I press the brake pedal, the RV responds with: “I’d like to phone a friend, Regis.” I tried stopping at a red light and the RV said: “We die like MEN.” I tapped the brakes going downhill and the RV decided: “We’re just gonna let gravity take this one.” At this point, my RV is basically a 2-ton missile powered by hopes, dreams, and the faint smell of panic sweat.

Because: just like my brakes, GoFundMe didn’t stop me.
Do I need a billion dollars to fix my brakes? No. I need $1,700, according to the shop. I also need to do a lot of regularly-neglected maintenance I haven’t had the budget for (such as transmission & oil filters), Plus the haywire electrical system I disconnected the LAST time my sweet rig broke; not to mention all the broken appliances that need to be replaced, and we are getting up to several thousand dollars (close enough to consider just getting a new vehicle). Given the current rate of inflation, a billion dollars just makes sense… but to appear sane and/or reasonable (at your own discretion), I have set the first goal to $26,000 and we can see how far that takes me. Even one-tenth of the goal will be enough to get me mobile again.
Will I say no to an extra billion dollars? Probably not, so that’s enough incentive that I will keep striving. Plus… imagine the bragging rights for my fans: “Yeah, I donated $10 to a guy who needed brakes, and now he’s as rich as Taylor Swift, but not quite as beautiful.”
