Marathon For Mam

Hey everyone, my name is Richard and in loving memory of my mother Ann who recently passed away with Cancer, I will be running the Galway City Marathon on 4th October 2025 to raise funds for Cancer Care West.

Mam passed away peacefully at home on 24th May 2025.

She was diagnosed with Throat Cancer in August 2022. She under went many rounds of radiotherapy and chemotherapy but despite treatment the cancer continued to spread. She endured a 3 year battle and faced many challenges during her treatment journey.

She faced her condition with courage and positivity while always keeping the bright side out.

Cancer Care West provided support to Mam with accommodation & transportation at a very difficult time in her life while she was undergoing radiation treatment in University Hospital Galway.

Cancer Care West is a very worthy charity, they help cancer patients throughout Mayo, Galway, Donegal, Sligo, Roscommon, Clare & Leitrim with residential accommodation / transport while under going treatment and provide support to the familys, free of charge.

Please help me honor her memory & support those still fighting.
