Mango's Surgery
Donation protected
Dear old friends, new friends, and family,
Mango is in need of your help. Last night Mango was having difficulty doing his normal activities such as walking and getting into bed for the night. Throughout the night his pain increased and he started to whine and become restless. At about 4am we decided we needed to get our baby to the emergency center. They gave us anti-inflammatories and pain medication to see if he would start to improve. Over the next couple of hours Mango declined quickly. We carried him outside to go to the bathroom and he refused to use his back legs. He was in so much pain that he could only drag his hind legs behind himself. We returned to the emergency center where they were alarmed by the drastic change in his condition. They said that surgery would be needed as soon as possible. Mango has Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). This means a disc ruptured in his back and the material is causing pressure on his spinal cord. Mango needs surgery tomorrow morning (or sooner) to relieve the pressure.
Anyone who knows us won’t question that Mango is like a child to us, as many of your pets are to you. His chances of recovering after the surgery are good and he can return to an almost normal life (with stairs and ramps to all furniture). We are unfortunately out of funds and have limited credit. What we did have went to the care that he received so far and throughout tonight. Please consider donating so we can get our baby the care he needs and bring him back home. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to know more about what Mango is going through.

Side note- Any money that we raise for Mango’s surgery we will save up again to donate to another animal in need on Go Fund Me.
