Help Build an Affordable Safari Lodge in Tanzania

Hello!

My husband, Spencer, and myself have taken a once in a lifetime adventure to Tanzania, Africa. During our travels, we have found a love for the land, animals, and especially the people. Life there is simple and beautiful. We made many friends on our journey through the small towns and wildlife areas.

In just a few years, we plan to join our Tanzanian friend, Raphael, as business partners in building a lodge to bring a more affordable safari experience to Tanzania, Africa. Safaris are a luxury and very costly but our team aims to change that. We wish to give the experience of safari in a new and inclusive way. Things are changing in Tanzania, more modernized ways of thinking and living while keeping the true characteristics of Africa.

Our mission is to contribute and better lives in Tanzania by providing a chance to the wider community and world travelers to experience a safari. We wish to give guests an exceptional African luxury camping experience and create an intercultural exchange of understanding though the hospitality industry.

Mama Africa Safari lodge will be paired with Raafrica Safari Tours to create an adventure of incredible thrills and indulgent relaxation that will ensure that lifetime memories are made. The safari lodge will be a peaceful home away from home for our guests, in an intimate setting, creating the perfect getaway from the bustling area of Arusha. We will be creating a luxurious thatched roof tented camp for 8 to 12 guests, while sourcing materials from the community.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Raphael

Raphael has been a safari driver and guide for 5 years. In the off season of tourism, he returns home to work on his sunflower farm to produce sunflower oil and raise money for not only his family but also, the business of his dreams. He is married and has two young girls. Little do most people know, the men and women in the safari tourism circuit leave their families for months at a time to make money to support their loved ones, only to return home for three months or so.

Spencer

Spencer is intelligent man with many skills ranging from everything construction and mechanics to outdoor survival. He is a dedicated and loving husband and father, always supporting every life adventure. His construction knowledge will be priceless when it comes to building Mama Africa Safari Lodge and his comfort with mechanics will show to be useful for the upkeep of the Safari Vehicles.

I'm an entrepeneur romanticizing life. we only have one to live, so let us do it right. My goal is to be a part of something that is life changing. Something bigger than materialistic life. I want to share my love of nature with everyone who is willing to listen. I know that I will be valuable in Tanzania as an ambassador for travelers visiting our lodge. I wish to share in this culture with pride and joy. I feel Africa calling to me.
