Hey everyone, this is Taryn on behalf of Mama Gail and family. We have some unfortunate news to share with everyone regarding Mom's health.
In May of this year, we got the best news we could have hoped for that Mama Gail had been given the all clear that her stage 4 cancer was in remission.
Around the end of July, she was having some issues with her speech, so we quickly rushed her to the hospital on July 31st.
It was that day that we found out she had an inoperable brain tumor. As you can imagine, this was devastating news, as we had the mindset that we were on the road to recovery.
After numerous nights in the hospital, fighting to get the care Mama Gail needed, multiple expenses, and so much more, we were able to get Mama Gail to a rehab facility to live her remaining days as strong as possible.
Initially she was given a timeframe of 1 to 2 years, so we wanted to take advantage of every minute we had left. Sadly, her health took a large decline and we brought her back to her home where she was put on hospice.
She still seemed to be doing ok and that we would have time with her, but as of Tuesday evening, 9/5, her health declined rapidly again. The nurses have said that she will most likely pass within the coming days.
During this time, the family has had to cover a lot of unexpected health costs, home care items, hotel rooms, meals out and then of course all the expenses that come after she passes. We have had a lot of people ask what they can do to help during this time or if they could donate anything, so that is what prompted us to create this page. We don't expect anything and most of all, your love and support has been amazing, but if you do feel inclined to donate, it would also be greatly appreciated.
As for updates on Mama Gail, I will continue to update this page with the latest information. While I wish I could speak to every one of you individually, I want to make sure that I spend this time next to my Mom and her loved ones telling stories and remember all of the amazing times we have had together.
Thank you everyone for your support!
Love,
Taryn
