Makiah was born on Friday, December 4th to Coral and Sean Logan at Winona Health.  She was born a healthy, beautiful baby.  On Saturday, December 5th they noticed some things wrong with her and decided she needed to be airlifted  to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester for some heart testing. 

It was there that they discovered she has Coractation of Aorta (CoA), which is a narrowing of the aorta, the large blood vessel that branches off your heart and delivers oxygen-rich blood to your body. When this occurs, your heart must pump harder to force blood through the narrow part of your aorta.  Makiah is scheduled for heart surgery to fix this on December 9 and will be in the cardiac ICU for at least 2 weeks recovering. 

Coral and Sean live in Stockton, MN which is about 40 minutes from Rochester and also have 2 beautiful girls at home, Makinley who is 3 and Maleigha who is 1 1/2.  This is taking a toll on their family with hotel stays, food and driving back and forth, not to mention the medical bills this will endure.  Coral and Sean are the most generous couple I know, always there helping and supporting others any way they can, so let’s show our support for them!!  Thank you all so much!!!
