Make G do Hard Labour in Nicaragua!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out what I'm doing. I hope you'll help me support this project.

In January of 2017 I'll be travelling to Granada, Nicaragua with a group called Changing Stories, a small group of people with with a mission to "create positive change in communities in under-developed areas by focusing on the needs of children, through physical, social and environmental projects." This project will be building a classroom, so I'll likely be swinging a hammer, pushing a shovel and probably doing my general best not to complain about manual labour... lol

A friend of mine did a project with them in El Salvador in 2015, and this inspired me to get involved as well. I've supported my share of charities and causes over the years, but this is an opportunity for me to get directly involved in making a difference and creating some awesome memories at the same time.

Each of us is self-funding our trip. I'm not asking you to fund my trip, I've already done that. I'm asking you to help offset the costs for others I'll be travelling with, who may not have the network of friends willing to help that I do -- I'll let them decide how best to use whatever funds are raised here whether it helps somebody's costs or gets donated directly to the school or community. I've set what I think is an achievable goal, but whatever is raised here will go directly to this project. This isn't a charity with overhead and salaries and that stuff -- every dollar is going straight toward the purpose.

I've supported many of you and your families in the past with raffle tickets, fundraisers, silent auctions, etc -- think of this as doing the same for my kids, except that these ones I can give back at the end of the week. Those who know me understand lol.

Your reward is either getting to see me do some hard labour, or vicariously being a direct part of helping out a community that needs it. Depends what kind of person you are I guess ;)
