Burial & family support fund for Muhammad Alkhayat

Brother Muhammad Alkhayat was diagnosed with cancer in 2022 and was told he had only 2 weeks to live. He surpassed all odds and survived a year until his passing on the blessed day of jummah, Friday 21st July, where he breathed his last in front of his beloved wife.

Brother Muhammad Alkhayat arrived in the UK from Syria as a refugee. He was the main source of income for his family and had gone through a lot of struggle this past year.

We need urgent help to cover his burial cost which cost £4000. We'd also like to raise any extra funds to support his family during this difficult time.

He leaves behind 2 sons and a daughter. It saddens me deeply as he was a beloved brother and friend. He made the dua at Coventry Eid in the Park during the Eid Ul Adha prayers even though the cancer had taken away a lot of his energy.

I teach his kids at madrasa, and they do not have any other relatives here in the UK. The family were already struggling since arriving here as refugees and any funds raised beyond the burial cost will be sent to his family.

After battling and overcoming my own cancer last year, I've been supporting Brother Muhammad going to and from the hospital. I've been friends with Muhammad Alkhayat for a while now. A friend who lives in Milton Keynes told me about him and forwarded me his number so I might be able to support him mentally. After our first meeting we kept in touch and I would regularly visit him.

He shared a lot of things with me as he felt comfortable. He would mention sometimes worries about his funeral and I would always change subject telling him not to think about it, and say that as I along with the community will sort it out when that time comes.

One of the biggest things he told me was that to look after his family after he passes away. I said I will try my hardest to fulfil his request.

Before he passed away he put me down as next of kin as he does not have any external family to support him.

Please help us raise urgent funds to cover his burial cost and raise any additional funds to support his young family.

Brother Muhammad Alkhayat has now returned to our creator on this blessed day of Jummah, and we ask Allah accounts him amongst the shuhada, and grants him Jannatul firdous to be amongst the company of our beloved RasulAllah (saw), the Anbiyaah and the saliheen.

He was from the descendents from the family of our beloved Prophet (sallallahu Alayhi wa sallam). We ask all donations are given with the intention of a gift. Just as our beloved Prophet (saw) would not eat from Sadaqa donations, so too his descendents.

How your funds will be used:

We will withdraw funds to pay for the burial cost first. All remaining funds will be transferred to his wife who now has to manage her household. So we hope the funds will keep her afloat for some months to come and enable them to cover any bills and support for children.
