My name is Carolina and I am a single mother in Oakland looking to get support for my family. After my son, Dwain, was shot and left paralyzed from the waist down, we have been struggling to stay afloat. Combined with the fact that my husband was killed here in Oakland, me and my family no longer feel safe living here. Dwain is only 15 years old, and I want to be able to provide him with all of the medical care that he needs without putting strain on our family. Dwain deserves to grow up knowing that we did the best we could to heal him after his injury.

 

 

I am looking to raise $50,000 to take care of Dwain's medical expenses, medical equipment that is not covered under insurance (like leg braces, a harness, and more), a new bed for Dwain, a car that is wheelchair accessible, housing support, and to help us pay our bills while we support Dwain's healing.
