Hello I'm Madi.... I'm in 8th grade, and part of my schools FTC robotics team.   We compete here in Oregon against other FTC teams of 7th-12th graders.   This year my team has built this amazing little robot it has exceeded all expectations,  placing in the top spots for local, regional and state competitions.   When we won our ticket to Oakland I think we surprised all our fans (especially my parents,) and now I feel like I should help my family cover some of the costs... It really wasn't planned for us to compete past state, but west coast regionals will be a great experience for us, especially as an 8th grade team!   My team is small,  I'm 1/8th of my team and the only girl, I have been the team manager for two years now.   This money will be used for my hotel, and travel expenses.   I will also be collecting recyclables, and gathering all the change out of the dryer and couch cushions, hehe.   I'm super determined, and I will quickly forgive my family for not thinking we could make it this far, surprises are fun right?!
