MYO began in 2011 as a way for students in the area to have a low, cost-high quality performing arts group. That is still our mission today. Hundreds of students grades K-12 have received the benefits of being a part of our program. MYO is a registered 501c3 organization. We do not charge tuition to be in shows. We don't require a certain number of tickets to be sold. Our organization is entirely volunteer run. No one gets a salary for the work done.
We are funded through ticket sales, generous sponsors, local grants, fundraising shows and camp. We believe students should not have to pay a fortune to be part of a quality group of performers. MYO is North Collin County, Texas's Community Youth Theatre. Once a year we have a fundraiser like this that contributes about 15-20% of our yearly budget. Theatre is expensive to produce, but we know there are unselfish people out there who believe that a theatre group can aid in the growth of students not only as performers, but as people. Our upcoming season contains 7 shows: Pippin, Little Mermaid, jr., The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, A Chorus Line (HS) Heathers (HS). Beauty and the Beast, jr. and Runaways. Each of these shows require royalties. rehearsal space rental and performance space rental before we can even think abour props, costumes, set, etc. We hope you will join us and make a gift so we can continue to create a place of acceptance and learning for all of our students.
