Help the producers of MALTA attend ABFF!

Hello everyone! GREAT NEWS!!! MALTA got selected to be a part of the American Black Film Festival. As the producers of the visual album/short film “MALTA” we are asking for your help in allowing us to attend ABFF. Our film is 1 of 20 short films that actually got selected out of the 300 films that were submitted into the festival, so this is a HUGE deal for us! We worked extremely hard to create this amazing film and thankfully, our hard work definitely paid off.

What is the American Black Film Festival you may ask?
The American Black Film Festival is an annual event dedicated to recognizing Black talent and showcasing quality film and television content by and about people of African descent. Dedicated to the belief that diverse artists deserve the same opportunities as their mainstream counterparts, ABFF Founder Jeff Friday conceived the festival in 1997 as a vehicle to strengthen the Black entertainment community by fostering resource sharing, education and artistic collaboration.

The ABFF is an experience like no other, bringing together Black culture enthusiasts, artists, executives and filmmakers from around the world for five days of screenings, talk events, exclusive industry masterclasses, and high-powered networking. Now in its 26th year, the festival has become a cornerstone of diversity in Hollywood, providing a platform for emerging Black artists – many of whom have become today’s most successful actors, producers, writers, directors and comedians – including Ryan Coogler (Black Panther), Will Packer (Girls Trip), Issa Rae (Insecure), Kevin Hart (Night School), Halle Berry (Bruised), Omari Hardwick (Power), Steven Caple Jr. (Creed II), Kerry Washington (Little Fires Everywhere), Anthony Anderson (Black*ish), Saladin K. Patterson (The Big Bang Theory), Ben Watkins (Truth Be Told), Shaka King (Judas and the Black Messiah), Pete Chatmon (Grey’s Anatomy), and Numa Perrier (The Wonder Years).

As you can see this opportunity has changed and has the ability to change the lives of many. While we are extremely blessed and grateful that our film was selected, as students in the film industry we are still working our way up the ladder and this wonderful opportunity would push us so much closer to the top. If you can find it in your heart to assist us in attending this festival you would be helping us young black filmmakers move so much closer to accomplishing our dreams. Thank you so much and bless you all!
