MALIBU / AGOURA FIRE RELIEF FUND

This week has been devastating to the communities my family and my friends call home. Malibu, Agoura , Calabasas, and beyond have been ravaged by fires. My dear family members and our closest friends have lost their homes, some have lost animals, and they have lost the places where memories were made over life times.

This past weekend my husband Tyler, my father in law George Sr, my sister in law Jane Hauptman, my honorary brother Jesse Carrera,  + all of their brave friends- a list far too long to name each individually have fought the flames, and  provided resources and aid and rescue efforts both night and day. A few homes still stand because of their valiant efforts. Tragically MOST do not. The flames and winds are still alive. They are still up there, sleep deprived, exhausted, fueled on adrenaline and hope fighting the good fight. Our community may be understaffed and underfunded by the government to combat this disaster but the bigger community that has stepped up to compensate and contribute via resources, efforts, shelter and support is making a BIG difference. 

I am asking for donations to go toward the immediate sheltering/relocation efforts, feeding, and fire fighting/securing efforts. I am also planning to distribute these funds toward individuals including family members and dear friends who are going to need to rebuild.

SPECIFICALLY FUNDS WILL BE PUT TOWARD THESE ITEMS ASAP:

$4500.00 will immediately go toward housing Pat Weisel (see below) for the next 30 days at Meadow Brook Agoura Assisted Living Home. Pat is my sister-in-law Julie's 94 year old Mom. Julie, George Jr my Bro in Law , Julie's momPat and their two dogs lost their home and ALL of their belongings in the fire. Extra funding raised will also go toward this housing situation.

$500.00 will immediately go toward to the on site relief work on Point Dume (see below) currently being run by my husband Tyler Hauptman and his friends "the point dume crew" . They are coordinating efforts with food, water, medical aide, putting out active and new fire, clearing roads, rescuing those in need who stayed behind, delivering/setting  up power and water and shelter.

REMAINING FUNDS  will be divided and distributed EQUALLY to family and friends who need immediate assistance with animal care and housing.

In addition to my Brother and Sister in law loosing their home, & all their belongings my parents in law also lost their home (see below). As did many close friends whom we consider to be family.

These are hard working, generous and humble folks who would never ask for assistance themselves but who would never hesitate to help anyone else out in far less dire situations.
