Hey everyone, like some of you know, I've decided to leave my job at the end of the year and open my very own yarn store. Anyone who knows me knows that this is such a love of mine and few things make me happier than yarn.
Yes, my job pays well, but at an emotional cost that I currently can’t pay. I’ve recently gone back to therapy and been diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, and OCD. The way the business I work for is run (or lack there of) is bringing my anxiety from my normal 6-7 to a full 10 and has made me decide to seek out medication to cope. Knitting is the one thing that helps me manage the anxiety.
I want to form an LLC to protect my personal finances and keep myself and my husband separate from the business, but that costs money. In order to apply for a small business loan or a grant I need the LLC in place. I need to cover legal fees, filling, and because I live in NY running two separate notices of formation in local papers.
I am not asking for a hand out here, but a loan. Once I have secured funding (either through a loan or a grant) I fully intend to pay everyone back either in cash, or if you want in free yarn.
My goal is to open my doors in April of 2017. I come from a family of business owners, and this is the thing that feels right for my life. I know if I can get this started, I can make it successful. Any little bit will help.
