End of Life Wishes for our Mom, Lynette Angell

Donation protected

Justin and Jenette Bain’s beloved mom, “Lynette Angell” was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer on May 1, 2021. It’s with great sadness and disbelief, We ask of our dear friends, family and Complete strangers (Angel’s), to help us carry out our Mom’s last wish of Traveling by RV, before leaving us. If you are unable to donate, we completely understand and ask that you please share our GoFund Me and pray for our Mom and her Family.

Selflessly, our Mom has chosen to NOT do chemotherapy or radiation as she would like to enjoy what life (up to 3 months) she does have left, with her children and grandson.

Our Mom’s one wish before leaving us, is to see the Grand Canyon and travel through Utah, with stops along the way with her children, Jenette and Justin. You see, our Mom has always traveled and lived life similar to “NoMadLand”! That’s why it’s no surprise to us, she wants to go out the same way but this time, with her children by her side.

For us to be able to fulfill this one wish comfortably for our Mom, we came up with renting an RV (as she is no longer mobile and requires oxygen). We did not anticipate how expensive this one wish would be... for 7 days with around 3000 miles, it comes to around $3500.00 and a $1,500 deposit. This does not include travel expenses such as; gas, campground fees and any other expenses we will come across. If anyone has an RV and would be willing to donate a week of travel to us, we would be incredibly thankful. If by chance we are blessed to exceed the amount needed, we would put it towards moms medical care and future funeral expenses. Any donations remaining, we will be donating to a Cancer Organization.

This past year has been financially hard on all of us. My brother, Justin was Laid-Off during the pandemic and we have also chosen too care for our Mom until the end. In order to do so, I (daughter) have had to take leave for work, as my mom will need 24 care.

We ask for your support to carry out our mom’s last wish and to assist us in being together during this unexpected and very difficult time. We ask for your prayers and strength to get through this. May God bless you all.

A little back story: On April 26, our Mom had an ER Bronchoscopy as one node in her right lung (which we had been monitoring for a year), had aggressively grown in size. While waiting for insurance to approve this STAT procedure, one node (mass) had tripled in size in a matter of 3 weeks... that’s how long insurance took to approve an ER procedure. We know this from the C-Scans! Please note; there is an open investigation as to why a “STAT” procedure (3 day approval process) took weeks to approve.

Within 24 hours of Bronchoscopy (Biopsy), her daughter received a call from her mom, “I can’t breathe”. When we (her children Jenette & Justin) arrived at the ER, we watched our mom lose pulse twice. Luckily the wonderful nurses and doctors revived her but warned, “be prepared”. Her daughter Jenette screamed to fight as her brother dropped to the ground, in disbelief. Unable to breathe on her own, Mom was transferred to ICU on bipap. Surprisingly, Mom was then diagnosed with cardiac failure, diabetes and needed insulin, her liver and kidneys started to fail and she continuously fluid up with fluid. Once the biopsy results came in on Saturday, May 1, as Stage 4 Lung Cancer, We had our Mom transferred to Providence Little Co. Mary in Torrance to the Oncology team. By this time, moms right lung showed signs of almost full collapse with the left lung nodes growing in size. The doctors advise this cancer had surprisingly been extremely aggressive and uncommon. Mom has shown signs of improvement in terms of the cardiac failure and diabetes which was determined, Acute. Her liver and kidneys still show high levels and she now has two infections which are being treated.

Both Justin and I have decided as a Family, to care for our Mom until the end. We would like to spend every moment we have left with her, as we know her days are numbered. This unexpected and progressive diagnosis has been very hard on our mom and us...  we never thought we’d be having these “end of life” conversations... not now, not this soon! Both my brother and I are struggling to understand what is happening... why, where did this come from, why so fast, how i will explain this to my 5 year old son who is extremely close to his “MiMi”, what our mom must be feeling, thinking, knowing she will leave us soon!

We thank you for taking the time to read our story and/or donate to our Mom’s last WISH.  We are looking forward to this journey with her and will forever cherish each moment.
Your donation to our moms WISH will be filled with love, laughter and memories. Thank you

May God bless you all. Thank you so much for the love and support.

With all the LOVE,

Jenette and Justin Bain.
