Luke was in a terrible mountain bike crash on 8.4.16. He was medevaced from Boone to Johnson City, undergoing Brain surgery that night for a skull fracture. This was followed by a week long hospital stay in PICU, he was then transfered to the Children's Hospital of Atlanta for week of in-patient rehabilitaion and now continues his road to recovery with out-patient rehab at Scottish Rite in Atlanta for a few more weeks. After the accident and surgery Luke had no movement on his left side, through these two weeks we have seen miraculous improvement where he is now able to walk on his own. He still has a long road to get back to being a normal 9 year old boy, but with the work ethic and determination he has shown so far we know that is a goal he will achieve.
The Bryan's have been overwhelmed with the support from all of their family and friends. Many of you have asked how you can donate towards Luke's hospital and rehab bills. Here is your opportunity to support them as they continue to be separated as a family to get Luke the best therapy available for a child with a neuro injury.
Luke has a sweetness and thoughtfulness that is just above and beyond your typical 9 year old. He has a light in him and on him, and I know he is here for a reason and will go on to do amazing things.
We really do appreciate everyone cheering him on and propping us up. There is no way we could be getting through this without all of your love and support. Thank you!
