Help Lucy’s Dog Park Shine Brighter - For All Dogs
Lucy’s Dog Park in Dexter, Missouri is more than just a place to let our dogs run - it’s where neighbors connect, friendships blossom and the community gathers.
But here’s our challenge: Lucy’s Dog Park receives little - if any funding from the city. That means every upgrade depends on fund raising efforts and the passion, support and generosity of people like you.
OUR IMMEDIATE NEED: Light Poles for Safety
To make the park safer and more accessible during early mornings and evenings, we are raising money to install 3 light poles, at a cost of $1,100 each.
That’s our first goal $3,300
Lighting will improve visibility, security and usability - especially during fall and winter months when daylight is limited.
OUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE $20,000
Once we meet our lighting goal, we’re setting our sights on even bigger improvements to make Lucy’s Dog Park the best it can be:
Fix Drainage Issues - eliminate standing water that keeps our pups away after it rains
Expand the Park with Additional Fencing - more space means more dogs can play safely
Install Shade Structures - for comfort during hot Missouri summers
Adding Agility Equipment - for enrichment, training and fun to keep dogs active and stimulated
❤️ GIVING BACK TO DOGS IN NEED ❤️
At Lucy’s Dog Park, we believe every dog deserves love, care and a chance to play. That’s why we are pledging to donate 20% of all funds raised to Paw’s Club. They assist local shelters and rescue groups with veterinary costs for sick and injured dogs in their care. When you give, you’re not only improving our park - you’re changing lives for less fortunate pups in our community.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
❤️ Donate any amount - every dollar helps us shine brighter
❤️ Sponsor a light pole - $1,100 donors will be honored with a recognition plaque at the park
❤️ Share this campaign - with friends, family and fellow dog lovers
Together, we can light up Lucy’s, build a better park and support dogs beyond our fence line.
Lastly, you may be wondering, who is Lucy? Lucy was in fifth grade when she and her grandma came up with the idea for a dog park in 2018. She helped raise money and the dream became reality April 16, 2021 when the dog park opened. They were both thrilled to receive a call from the Dog Park Committee wanting to name the park after Lucy. It’s been one of the highlights of her life. Lucy has a form of muscular dystrophy but is doing great and continues to inspire everyone around her. ❣️
Thank you for supporting our park and the pups in need!
