Lucia's family support fund

Lucia is 15, and now receiving palliative care at a beautiful Hospice in the South West, where she is staying with her family. She has been battling Astrocytoma, an aggressive tumour that has grown on her spine. Although she has been through radiotherapy and chemotherapy, her cancer has now been diagnosed as terminal.
Throughout her treatment, Lucia has tirelessly helped to raise money for various charities including, The Teenage Cancer Trust, The Wallace and Gromit Appeal and Ward 38 at Bristol Children's Hospital. She has helped to organise fundraising events, with the ‘Go Run for Lucia’ 5k run raising over £1100. Because of all of this incredible fundraising, Lucia was awarded The Bath Chronicle’s Pride of Bath ‘Young Person of the Year’ award in March of this year. She was unable to attend, as she was in hospital, but we were all there to cheer her on, as she was face timed by her mum Melina whilst she collected the award on Lucia’s behalf.
The most important part of Lucia’s life is her family, especially her two younger brothers. Lucia has asked that any money donated goes to helping her family to create a games room at their family home in her memory. It will be decorated with photographic memories of Lucia and her family, and have all the latest gadgets that the young boys will love. As part of a small team that has helped raise money for www.goblueforlucia.com, we have also discussed with the family, that any money raised should also go towards any family costs that we agree are appropriate, such as funeral costs or family travel costs. This funding page has been set up completely separately from anything we have done with Go Blue for Lucia. This page is specifically for raising funds for the family. If you would rather donate to a registered charity, Lucia is a proud supporter of the charities mentioned above, and also www.chsw.org.uk . Lucia is receiving incredible care at the Hospice supported by CHSW, and they rely on donations to be able to continue their incredible work.
