Hello everyone, my name is Lovie.
Something about me. I have been working diligently to be a positive influence in the city of Philadelphia and make a difference in the lives of those I’m around. I usually dress as several Marvel superheroes to help groups like the Philly Avengers and NY Avengers to bring awareness and raise money for different diseases and terminal illnesses. I also work with a close friend and his organization REAKT to help feed and clothe the homeless in the city of Philadelphia. I volunteer every chance I get to just bring joy to others in hopes that they will do the same and change this world for the better.
I started this GoFundMe campaign hoping that in the way that I help others, people will come together to help me become stable again by raising enough money to purchase an energy efficient livable van for me to live in. This would allow me to divert funds I’d normally be spending on an apartment in the city of Philadelphia to go towards my increasing medical expenses and focus on healing so that one day I get back to helping others any way that I know how.
I had been working on my 2019 plan to eliminate all my debts so that one day I could be the first person in my immediate family to buy and own a home. To do this I came up with a plan to eliminate all unnecessary expenses. This included cutting 90 percent of all leisure activities if they did not involve some form of charity or I could not attend free of charge. I gave my jeep to a cousin whom was unable to quality for a vehicle in exchange for him assuming the payments. This helped him with his new job with American Airlines and eliminated me having a car and insurance payment. I then bought a bicycle to eliminate the need for me to require taking any form of public transportation. I would even take extreme measures by some days only eating eggs or skip meals just to spread out food to keep the cost low.
Everything was going according to plan up until I was struck by an automobile while riding my bicycle to work on the morning of September 6th, 2019. I am now unable to walk, stand, sit or lay without feeling severe discomfort on my left side due to a pinched nerve in my lower lumbar spine. For the last month I have been in physical therapy three days a week and ongoing. I will soon be receiving a cortisone injection in my lower lumbar spine and will continue physical therapy in hopes for a full recovery. My injuries now make it extremely difficult for me to peruse any opportunities that arise for me to make additional income or assist multiple organizations raise money for charities. Ever since I was struck, I’ve been put in a position where I'm stuck at home and the increasing additional medical expenses are making it difficult to save money as I originally intended.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated and would make a world of difference for me. In advance I'd like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and generosity. If you are unable to assist, sharing my story is more than enough.
