Help For Bryan's Medical Treatment
Donation protected
For most who work in our Building, you know Bryan as the person who greets us with a smile and asks us about our day as we are leaving work. And other's may know him (especially) if you are a woman as the one who walks us safely to our car on the nights we work very late. Everyday when I leave, I look forward to seeing Bryan's smile... he just makes me feel better after a long stressful day. He reminds me I have so many reasons to smile & be grateful.
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of awarding Bryan with a LiveBright giftcard. I noticed him limping and asked if he had hurt his foot and that is when I found out that Bryan had peripheral neuropathy due to his diabetes. Bryan has Type 1. Some may know what this is, as I do because I see my father suffer from it. If you don't, it's a condition that can cause constant pain, tingling and numbness in your legs and feet. For Bryan, he experiences constant pain up and down his legs from this. I was shocked when I learned it because you would never know from his constant smile & beaming happiness. It was this conversation that I found out that he had gone to a clinic in Hoover that specializes in this and was awaiting results. He was kind enough to give me the number so that I could pass this information on to my father. This clinic is called Neurogenx NerveCenter and only accept the worst cases.
When I left work this past Friday, I was fortunate to run into Bryan when l was leaving, so I asked him if he had heard from the clinic. He said yes he did and at first he was so excited but then after finding out how much he was going to have to pay after insurance to begin treatments, he didn't think he would be able to do it. I told him I completely understood because even if I had to do that right now, it would be hard to come up with the money. Most people can relate to the struggle.
Bryan works 2 FT jobs, was in the military for 14 years. And even though he goes to the VA, because of the severity of his condition, there is not anything else the VA can help him with. That is why going to the clinic could give Bryan hope in helping him get the type of treatment he needs.
I told Bryan not to give up because I wanted to do something and that I knew there were people at work who love him as much I do. There was no doubt that I wanted to help Bryan but I know I can't help with an impact that he needs by myself. I know I adore Bryan and know that there are other people that do too. I know many people would want to help if they knew what he is going through, just like I do. That is why I decided to create this Go Fund Me for Bryan's medical treatment.
I don't know how close we can get to the $5k goal but anything would help him. So, please join me in funding toward his treatment. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. I want to tell him... You are not alone... your work family Loves You ... we want to see you get the help you need.
If you do help, please place a little note so that I can pass it on to Bryan in a card.
If you would like to give a monetary contribution, you can contact me (Susan Tawfik), Laura Lee or Tara Shapach and we all make sure this goes toward his treatment account.
God Bless & Thank you!!
One of the most important things you can do on this earth is to let people know they are not alone.
