Lou and Kay Parent are good, faithful, service-driven, salt-of-the-earth people that I have known for 20+ years. Lou has done so much for so long with such a willing and cheerful heart. He has worked tirelessly for decades to support his family, many times taking second jobs when opportunities arose. Kay is a gentle soul, stay-at-home mother. They both have been wonderful examples of faith and trust in God.
Lou always seems to have a good attitude when facing adversity and, WOW!!, has it ever piled on over the last few months. The flooding in Moapa last summer made national news and washed away much of their home's foundation, leaving it uninhabitable. They have cheerfully made do in a rental for months now trying to figure out what to do with the meager insurance money to restore their home. Then lightening struck again when Lou had a portion of his leg amputated and, due to a medical error, nearly lost the rest of his leg. As their family and friends, the hardship has seemed almost unbelievable but we believe in the strength of good-hearted, generous people. Please consider helping these good people.
