Lorincz Family Cancer Battle

Donation protected

Jonathan has been battling CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy) since he was eight years old. As of two yeas ago, Jon developed a very high case of leukemia (T-cell ALL ). By God's grace and difficult, but excellent, medical treatment, Jon was able to go into remission, and the past year we have been doing the treatment mostly from home with monthly visits to the hospital for spinal taps and port access chemo. One and a half years to go, so we thought.
Recently, we received “the call” that the lab found leukemia cells in Jon's spinal fluid. Jonathan had relapsed. Leukemia relapses are very nasty and offer very little hope. Gratefully, his relapse did not spread to his bone marrow and is assumed to be in the central nervous system (CNS) only. However, even knowing this, and due to the uncertainty and the little consensus of what treatment approach is best, our oncologist still desires to go the bone marrow transplant route. He is receptive however to whatever methods or direction we desire to go between balancing quality of life and severity of treatment.
We are painfully grieving while reviewing the medical options presented to us. We desire Jon's best, yet we believe that the additional chemo stress upon his liver and body will likely be too much too soon for him, thus we are looking to subsidize his chemo treatments with natural care options, but they are in the $30K range and up, while the recent CAR-T technology is half a million dollars per treatment. We have a decent medical plan, but coverage for any natural approaches is not provided. In addition, for the past ten years we have maxed out our of pocket costs for Jon and for our family. Due to a good job, we have been able to stay afloat financially, yet as the future options for Jon look to cost quite a bit out of pocket, our financial health will also be threatened. Though we trust in the Lord to provide and protect our family, we are also asking for help.
God uses means, and we are part of those means that God uses to impart his grace upon our world. First and foremost we ask that you would please pray for us. Prayer has facilitated for us (and for you:) more grace and mercies than we will ever know in this life. Of course, if you are able, we would gratefully appreciate your help financially. I'm humbled to ask for this as I do struggle with pride, but am sure this is sanctifying. God has amazingly sustained Jon so far. He has been, and is, God's gift to us and to many. Even when we first started, the doctors did not think that he would survive the week. We kept hearing how amazing his recovery was on a regular basis...clearly that was a very gracious answer to many prayers. We thank Him so very much for gifting us with these past two years, yet we come before Him to plead for more. He is abundantly rich in mercy, a true and great God to Whom great petitions we bring!
