Lori Fasano was born on November 29th, 1960.  Lori wanted to become a pharmacist and she graduated with a BSc Pharmacy in 1982.  Lori worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 30 years where she met her future husband Dave.  They have 2 loving children, Scott (24) and Alison (27).
On Friday April 12th, 2013 Lori went to the doctors because of dizziness and pain in her calf.  She was sent home for the weekend and was going to come in for more tests the following week.  After collapsing twice at home, Dave called the EMS to take Lori to the hospital. As they were working on her, she lost consciousness and went into cardiac arrest.  There was a blood clot that had traveled to her lungs and prevented her from oxygenating her blood.  By the time she got to the hospital and the doctors were able to dissolve the clot, her brain had been deprived of oxygen for 55 minutes causing an irreversible anoxic brain injury.
Two years later, Lori is still wheelchair bound and living at a long-term care facility, Runnymede Healthcare Centre.  For the past two years, Dave Fasano has been renting a wheelchair accessible van about once a month to take Lori home for a weekend.  This has been a very big hassle and last month when her sisters were in town, they were unable to rent the van because the previous person didn't return it in time.  Now the Fasano family is trying to raise money to purchase a wheelchair accessible van so they can take her home more often and don't have to be at the mercy of the rental service.  Every dollar counts, and if we reach our goal, any extra money will go towards future medical expenses.  We will be presenting Dave Fasano with a check for whatever we raise on June 30th at a charity event for Lori.  Thank you!!!
