Help Lola Walk Again

Donation protected
Lola is a 5-year-old English Bulldog. Lola is a rescue and has been with her family for the last 4 years. Lola has two brothers and has had 4 foster brothers over the years. On Saturday January 6th, 2018, Lola sat down to catch her breath after playing with her brothers, and was unable to get back up. After many x-rays, CT Scans, MRI’s, and a spinal tap Lola went under the knife for emergency surgery. The surgeons removed a cyst and scar tissue from Lola’s spine and said with extensive physical therapy Lola has a 70% chance of being able to walk again. During recovery Lola developed pneumonia and was placed in critical condition in the ICU unit. Lola’s blood pressure dropped dangerously low, she went into respiratory failure, and had a fever of 108F. Lola’s vitals eventually stabilized and she was placed on antibiotics to fight the pneumonia. She remains in ICU on assisted breathing so that she can rest and recover from her spinal surgery. Lola is expected to have a long recovery process with physical therapy and specialized care. The monitory cost of the emergency visit, all of the tests, surgery, ICU, recovery, and rehabilitation are extensive. Lola’s father is a social worker and her mother is a college student, these costs far exceed their ability to pay for such large unexpected medical bills. Lola’s parents have spent several years fostering and taking care of rescued English Bulldogs and now they need help with their love, Lola. Any donation helps, and all donations will be going directly to Lola’s vet bills and rehabilitation.
