Logan Scott Camp Memorial Scholarship Fund

Logan Scott Camp, born February 18, 1997, was a lifelong resident of Madisonville, LA who lost his life at the young age of twenty-two in a tragic workplace accident. To honor Logan and his legacy, friends and family have established the Logan Scott Camp Memorial Fund.

At a very young age, Logan fell in love with the outdoors and grew to be an avid outdoors man, spending much of his spare time in the woods or on the water. Having listened intently to his father’s and grandfather’s tales of glorious days spent in duck blinds, duck hunting soon became his passion, and after his first duck hunt at the age of twelve with his grandfather and younger brother, Logan was hooked for life. His friends declared they knew no one more excited to rise at 2 a.m. to duck hunt than Logan, who traveled to several states, often sleeping in his truck for days, just to chase the ducks.

But Logan was more than a duck hunter....he was concerned about wildlife and waterfowl conservation. He often spoke of his concern for the future of duck hunting and of a desire to return to school to pursue a career in wildlife management and to work as a guide. So what is Water Fowl Conservation, you may ask. It is a conservation effort to restore waterfowl populations through habitat protection, restoration and enhancement and protection from over- harvest. This effort is to ensure that our vast wetlands and duck population will be around for generations to come.

Logan left behind no spouse or children; however, his infectious personality and true love for life did leave a lasting impression on everyone he met, as well as a host of incredible memories that will be cherished forever. So to honor Logan’s legacy and his memory, his friends and family are requesting donations to create a lasting memorial fund in his name. The Logan Scott Camp Memorial Fund will provide scholarship awards to assist underprivileged students pursuing wildlife and waterfowl conservation studies. In addition to the legacy scholarship this fund will also help to support waterfowl conservation projects that are already in process, as well as, provide donations and assistance to persons of all ages with disabilities to encourage and assist them in participating in these outdoor activities.
