In May 2016, Lloyd was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and told he had 90 days to live.  There was cancer growing in his liver, P3 vertebral column, stomach, sternum and lymph nodes. For the past year he has been taking Chemotherapy. We are blessed to have him with us still. In March 2017, he had his last treatment but then took a well-deserved break from chemo. Throughout this time he continued taking Herceptin, an additional type of Chemotherapy. His health insurance company did not pay for a PET scan for multiple months, only offering CAT scans & other inaccurate ways of tracking the cancer. He began developing severe back pain and was increasingly doing worse. On June 3rd he finally had a PET scan and lots of regrowth was discovered. He also found out his T3 vertebrae has a compression fracture due to the cancer.  

His wife, Freddie has quit her job to take care of him and Lloyd is attempting to work when he can. Lloyd has an indescribable will to live and has fought his way tooth and nail to this point. The doctors have provided two options, both Chemo treatments, but one is a clinical trial. Neither are the solution to this extremely deadly cancer. There are other alternatives they are interested in trying but lack the funds to pursue or explore and none which health insurance will cover. Lloyd and Freddie are hoping to raise $25,000 to help them continue this treacherous fight to remission.

It is with heavy hearts they turn to friends and family to ask for help. While working through the shock and grief of this they are doing their best to remain positive and move forward the best way they know how. Lloyd and Freddie have five daughters and five grandchildren. All of them appreciate your support, prayers, and words of hope and encouragement during this time, when it matters most.
