Hey everyone, As some of you may know, our friend Sawyer’s sweet mother Liz recently fell ill.Upon diagnosis, it was worse that expected. She was diagnosed with cancerous tumors on her brain and other parts of her body. Covid, and Liz’s condition, have prevented her from working as a school teacher, compounding the financial impact of this unanticipated illness on Liz, and Sawyer as her only son.Being the loving son that he is, Sawyer has left his beloved life in Colorado to support his mom, and be with her to face this challenge together. Consequently, they recently moved into a small apartment in Virginia Beach to be closer to her medical team. As a good friend of Sawyers, I felt compelled to help. Knowing others would likely want to help too if they were aware of their situation, I created this effort, with permission and the deep gratitude of Liz and Sawyer, in the hope that together we can help ease their burden, at least financially. I’m sure directly or indirectly we’ve all experienced coming face to face with cancer, or another life threatening illness, and the extreme toll it takes on those affected.
