Have you ever known someone who makes you want to be the best version of yourself—someone who reminds you that there is still goodness, kindness, and empathy left in this crazy world when you need it most?
That’s my sister.
She has spent a lifetime really putting herself out there to take care of everyone, despite the costs to herself. She has made a career dedicated to palliative nursing, easing the burden for her patients and their families in the most difficult and painful moments of their lives. She has never turned away anyone in need, and has given of herself with sincerity, heartfelt love for people, and tremendous grace.
In what can only be called the worst possible timing, she was diagnosed with Double/Triple Hit Lymphoma immediately after being laid off due to COVID cuts in workforce. She will be undergoing four brutal rounds of chemo, and then a bone marrow transplant. The road will be long and terribly difficult.
She is now facing the greatest battle of her life with no resources—after putting so much heart and love into bringing good things to others for her entire life.
It’s a serious situation, and it’s our turn to give of ourselves with sincerity and heartfelt love. She desperately needs our help right now.
The funds we raise here will be used to cover the tremendous costs she will be responsible for as she undergoes some of the most aggressive treatment available as well as to ensure that she has a roof over her head, food to nourish her body and feed her family, utilities, and basic needs in this incredibly challenging moment.
We are all new to this situation, and do not know what other resources can be helpful at this time—but we will update this campaign to let you all know how she’s doing and what other support can make a difference for her.
She needs our help immediately to cover these urgent needs so that she can begin chemo, focus on the fight, and recover.
The world needs people like my sister, but now she needs us. This is our opportunity to make sure she has a fighting chance.
Please donate and share this campaign widely.
