I need your help to save Little Girls leg.... Amputation or Surgery.....
Five years ago my beagle, Little Girl, rescued me! I was driving home from the store to see a beautiful beagle limping along the side of the road. As an animal lover, I stopped only to have Little Girl walk straight over to my car..... At that moment this limping rescue beagle would change my life forever! Little Girl, “LG”, has not only provided me with a love of beagles, but a love for animal rescue and advocacy.
Her Story:
Once I saved enough money I took Little Girl to the vet. Quickly it was discovered that her life had not been one of joy and happiness. Used as breed dog for many years, she was heart-worm positive, infection ridden, and suffering from the effects of physical abuse. On the right side of her little body, she had been struck by a blunt object at some point in her journey. She had no teeth on her right side, a missing piece from her ear lobe and a horrific break on her leg that had never been set; causing the limp. (See the attached x-ray)
Her teeth can not be replaced, so she eats wet dog food daily! Her ear lobe healed and she has a worrier battle scare to show off! However, her leg has always been an issue. At the time of rescue, her physical body needed more attention.
It has been five years and the effects of the incorrectly healed break are hampering her quality of life. Using doggie stairs daily and falling while simply walking, destroyed my heart. LG is the love of my life and I would do anything for her....
I took her to a vet specialist and was quoted a price to fix her leg that was far beyond my means as an educator. The diagnosis was surgery ASAP or amputation. Luckily, LG has received care from Arlington Pet Hospital and Dr. Garret Davis since she walked into my life. Dr. Davis has agreed to take on the complicated surgery, including re-breaking the bone, shaving down the fragments and placing a plate in her leg, for a more achievable amount. We are so close to finally providing the stability she has needed for many years . IF WE CAN RAISE THE FUNDS FOR SURGERY......
I need your help!!! Please donate anything possible.... even a $1.00 to save her leg from amputation!!!
