The background to all of this is - four years ago I moved to Vancouver Island where I got back into surfing and Stand up Paddleboard surfing (SUPing). I REALLY took to SUPing and it has become my life.
This focus and passion led me to compete in the 2016 October Tofino Surf & SUP Invitational in the Pro Women's Division. The top two places make it to Team Canada. I came fourth. But - lucky for me the second place gal is American, and third place chose not to go!
Making it to a National level team has been a lifelong goal. It is an honour to represent your Country.
September I travelled to Denmark and placed 19th out of 43 competitors in the 2017 World Stand up & Paddleboard Championships.
On October 21st 2017 I placed 2nd overall at the Tuff City SUP Championships - which decided the Team Canada athlete's heading to the Pan American Games pre-qualifying event December 1st - 9th in Lima Peru!
Things just keep going up and up!
This is the first time that stand up paddle surfing will be in the PanAm Games. I will be representing Canada alongside Cath Bruhwiler for the women's SUP surf component.
And then after that - WORLDS 2018!
Fundraising is now left open and continuous until heading off to World's 2018.
