Lilly Smith's Transplant fund

My best friend’s daughter Lillian Carol Smith “Lilly” is a beautiful little 3 year old girl. She loves princesses, playing with her big brother, mommy and daddy, and her bunny Cola.  Lilly was born with polycystic kidney disease (PKD). Due to this rare disease she entered into this world fighting for her life.  Just a newborn, Lilly underwent two separate major surgeries to have both of her kidneys removed and has been on dialysis since she was 5 days old. She is dialyzed for 3.5 hours 3 days a week at Cardinal Glennon Children’s hospital. There have been challenges along the way, but God has been faithful.  Lilly may be small, but she is fierce and her family is strong.  They have taken everything in stride, one step at a time. This brings me to our current step, where I am asking for your help. Lilly is waiting for a kidney transplant. She is a special case and is not able to be transplanted here in St. Louis because her blood vessels they would use in transplantation are tiny, almost non-existent.  For this reason she will be transplanted in California at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital of Stanford. LPCH has better imaging and was able to see a couple of locations to place a donor kidney of the right size. Once they receive that life changing call, Lilly will be heading to the west coast with her Daddy, mommy, and big brother by her side. They will all be living there in and out of the hospital until she is released to go back home, which they are told will be a minimum of 3-6 months. Funds raised will help cover their monthly bills, Lilly’s medical expenses, and the high cost of living while in California. A transplant Association estimated their expenses to be around $60,000.00. Your support is HUGE and will allow Nick and Bekah to be with and focus on their daughter. Any donation amount is immensely appreciated and greatly needed.
