Friends and Family of Lila, Meg and Greg
All of our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Lila as she fights each day and keeps up her amazing spirit. Lila was diagnosed with an embryonal rhadomyosarcoma in early December. In 2016, she is expected to go through at least 42 weeks of chemotherapy and several rounds of radiation.
Meg and Greg have been so touched by the kindness and care of all of the friends and family that are supporting them in this difficult time. The outpouring of support is evident from the 2,000+ visits to Lila's Caring Bridge site that Meg and Greg have been updating, link below.

While the most important part now is the treatment of Lila, there is no hiding the fact that there will be a significant financial impact to Meg and Greg in the coming months. There are going to be significant incidental costs with the projected 42 weeks of treatment, and most notably a daily treatment potentially starting this March in Baltimore for 4-6 weeks. These treatments alone will involve travel and the added costs of hotels, meals and all the other costs that add up when you are away from home.
For anyone looking for a way to support Lila, Meg, and Greg this fund will be a great way for friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances to help lessen the load of what the Hammetts will be facing financially this year. It will be important for them to focus as much of their attention on getting Lila back to 100%.
A mantra for the Sivertsen family (Meg's family side) refers to "The Glue." The glue represents the strength and bond that keeps the group, or members of the group, together in times of uncertainty and distance. A situation has now come about where a little "glue" is necessary to help support loved ones and ease some of the stress for Meg and Greg.
