Welcome to Liam’s Journey
Some of you already know pieces of my story. What many don’t yet understand is how urgent and heavy this fight has become.

I am living with end-stage heart failure. Every day my heart works harder than it should just to keep me here.

Simple things walking across a room, climbing a few stairs, even laughing too hard can leave me short of breath and exhausted. The fatigue is constant. The fear sits right beside it.

Without a heart transplant, doctors say my main left artery will likely block completely within the next 11 months.

Every morning I wake up and have to choose, again, to fight. Some days that choice feels almost unbearable. I open my eyes knowing this day could be my last, especially while the financial gaps left by insurance and Medicaid still hang over us.

The uncertainty presses on my chest alongside my failing heart. Yet I keep getting up. I keep fighting.

I’m not just fighting for myself. I have two amazing daughters, 12 and 22, and two grandchildren who are 3 and 5.

I want to be here to see my girls grow into the women they’re meant to become to watch them chase their dreams and be present for graduations, careers, love, and all the ordinary, beautiful moments that make a life.

I want to hear my grandchildren’s laughter, hold their hands, cheer them on through every win, and comfort them through every hard day.

I love spending time with them more than anything, and I work hard so they never see the full weight of the pain I’m carrying. They deserve to remember me smiling, not suffering. I still want more time with the people I love.

Before my heart failed, life was full in the best ways. I was a dad first school drop offs, weekend trips, backyard cookouts, movie nights with the popcorn made just right.

I loved film: working as an assistant director, sound engineer, stunt actor, and brand integration consultant, or simply sharing stories and characters with friends and family.

I showed up for people fixing a neighbor’s fence, driving a friend to an appointment, building memories with my daughters. Ordinary days of work, family dinners, and laughter with my grandkids felt like they would last forever.

My Medical Journey
November 2022 was the starting of malpractice by sending me home while having a stroke.

On February 3, 2023, I was rushed to Saint Anthony Hospital while coding in and out. A Code Blue was called. They fought hard with multiple rounds of medication and shocks. All four major arteries were 98% blocked. I spent more than a week and a half in the ICU.

On May 4, 2025, I crashed even more severely and coded while being flown to the hospital. Imaging in January 2026 showed continued severe blockages. I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure at the end of 2022 and told I likely had only 3 to 5 years without a transplant.

The financial reality

Because of my condition I can no longer work. The medications that keep my heart going are expensive, and insurance and Medicaid do not cover everything. Paying the rent, the electric bill, and the everyday costs of staying alive has become a monthly struggle especially knowing I need to relocate closer to a transplant center to stay compliant and eligible for a total heart replacement.

What I long for most is simply to have these financial strains lifted so I can breathe literally and figuratively and stop carrying the constant worry about the gaps. I want the space to focus on staying as stable as possible while we wait for the chance to move near the transplant program that can give me a real shot at more time.

We have reached out to many sources of help. Still, critical costs for medications, treatments, transportation, specialized heart-healthy food, infection-prevention supplies, and temporary housing near the center remain uncovered.

Meeting every requirement living close enough for emergencies, attending every appointment, lab, and biopsy on schedule, maintaining a strong support network, and following lifelong medical guidelines is non-negotiable.

Any gap can mean removal from the list. This is a serious, lifelong commitment for me and the people who stand with me.

If the financial weight could be eased, I could put my energy where it belongs: fighting for more days with my daughters and grandchildren, preparing for the transplant journey, and simply living with a little more peace while we wait for the next opportunity to relocate and take the next step.
