Alexis' Study Abroad Trip to Spain

I am Alexis Scott, a student at Hampton University majoring in broadcast/journalism with an area of emphasis in Spanish.
I have been extremely blessed with attending one of the top Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the nation and I would like to thank each and every one of my family and friends for your love and support. HU has given me experiences that I will hold near and dear to my heart and will never forget.
I am a member of the Hampton University WHOV news station, Midwest Pre-Alumni Council, Junior Class Community Service Committee, National Association of Black Journalists and the Greer Dawson Wilson Student Leadership Training Program.
This upcoming summer, I have been given the opportunity to travel to Barcelona, Spain. During the trip, I will immerse myself in Spanish culture through a truly educational experience. I will also have the blessing of working with a top media company as a summer journalism intern. This trip will allow me increase my knowledge in communications and the media industry, as well as becoming more fluent in the Spanish language. With aspirations of becoming an international journalist, this summer excursion will aid me in making this career goal a reality.
I am firm believer that you can achieve all that you set your mind to if you work hard and never give up. To accomplish this outstanding experience, I would consider it an honor for you to be apart of this new chapter in my life and educational journey. I know that I cannot do this without your help! My goal is to raise $3,000 before Summer 2017. I truly appreciate all of you for your encouragement and guidance.
