You’ve been on this journey with us for almost a year. The triumphs and the heartbreaks have been monumental & through it all, your support has been the wind under our wings, that’s carried us further than most would have dared to dream…

“Grateful” doesn’t even come close to the immensity of all we feel for you… thank you, thank you, THANK YOU… and… our journey isn’t over yet.

We are reaching out with one final and perhaps most difficult request for support…

Last month, our magical Son and center of our universe, Mana Trinity Darville, took his last breath.

We are shattered & will spend the rest of our lives longing to have just one more moment in the sunshine of his light.

As we put the pieces of our hearts back together in a new mosaic that is forever expanded, we’re faced with the practical realities of all that lays ahead…

We are proud to say that EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR that you helped us raise, was spent directly on Mana’s medical treatments. Towards the end, as the urgency mounted to fever pitch and the sleepless nights became sleepless months, the medical bills piled-up far beyond what we raised. We completely depleted our life savings and ate into the equity in our house.

We have no regrets and would do it all again a thousand times over, but our finances aren’t the only things we depleted; we’re emotionally, spiritually and physically utterly exhausted.

The prospect of immediately having to find work or sell our house to cover costs is overwhelming to say the least.

So, we’re humbly asking for your support again, so we can grieve with dignity & heal the hurting hearts of Mana’s two little brothers that need our attention now more than ever.

The thing about Mana’s gofundme that still brings us to tears, is the simple fact that the average donation was just $25 dollars. It wasn’t the high flyers or the celebrities, but the everyday people, the Moms and Dads who saw their own children in Mana’s eyes, that allowed us to try EVERYTHING. And in doing so, have given us the greatest gift of PEACE in our darkest hour.

Two weeks ago, in Ojai California 150 of Mana’s closest friends and family came together to Celebrate his Life in a gathering that was profoundly transformative for all in attendance.

Mana’s presence and magic was palpable in every element of the day. And it was obvious to everyone there that he’d want that magic shared with the thousand globally who were touched by him.

Although it’s overwhelming to try pull this off at this time and scary to share something so deeply personal, we know it’s the next step.

Back in January 2023, Mana wasn’t expected to make it longer than 8 weeks….

We put out the call & YOU answered. We watched in awe & gratitude as our community showed up to fully resource us in finding the best and most effective treatments anywhere in the world for Mana.

Three grueling surgeries, 2 continents, countless therapies and Mana’s undeniable will…

8 months later he is still with us. Still fighting.

We’ve witnessed real-life miracles as Mana went from not being able to walk, to doing ninja rolls off the side of the bed, rock climbing, swimming & not just getting out of the wheelchair but running unassisted!

Looking at Mana only a few short weeks ago, we never imagined we’d be calling for your support again.

Despite months of stability and miraculous progress, the tumor has clawed its way back and is growing faster than ever.

Our son Mana needs your help. Right now, he is in the fight of his life against multiple malignant brain tumors.

Anyone who has met Mana will agree that keeping him here is something worth fighting for.

In July 2022 our lives were turned upside down. Mana collapsed on the beach with a massive seizure that left the right side of his body paralyzed. At the time, he was misdiagnosed with Focal Cortical Dysplasia, a brain abnormality that had supposedly been there since birth. We implemented everything possible to try stop the seizures, but for the next 6 months, Mana continued to suffer daily uncontrolled episodes.

On the 18th of January 2023 we found ourselves back in the emergency room. To our absolute horror an MRI revealed two large masses in Mana’s brain; one the size of a peach and the other a walnut. Tumors, now growing across the surface of our son's brain.

We were immediately rushed into emergency surgery and our little warrior survived over 13 hours in theatre. But even in the hands of our world-class surgeon, only 60% of one mass was able to be removed.

The tumor tissue was sent to the best diagnostic laboratories in the world, with the hope of finally knowing what type of cancer we’re dealing with. But after cross-referencing the genetics and morphological features against the entire Australasian, European and select American databases, there are zero matches to what they are seeing. In true Mana style, this is one of a kind.

In our most recent oncologist meeting, we were told that he has high-grade aggressive brain cancer. It is some form of glioneuronal tumor with genetic mutations usually only seen in glioblastomas. Then to our shock, they said, "without knowing what it is, we cannot responsibly offer you ANYTHING in terms of treatment. We are so sorry we can’t be more helpful…”

So it’s now up to us to find a cure for our boy.

We’ve left no stone unturned in our global search for solutions.

We’ve found two clinics in the US that are having stunning success treating paediatrics and curing the “incurable.” We are in contact with families of kids with similar diagnoses as Mana who are now in full remission. Halleluja!!

The cutting-edge treatments at both of these clinics cost between $17,000 - $35,000 USD per month. Each.

Neither are covered by insurance.

There is no number too high for Mana.

We need to raise enough to cover the first 9 -12 months of treatment, plus medical devices, medications, international travel/accommodation and childcare for our other two boys.

Once in remission, we’ll still have the monumental task of rehabilitating the extensive neurological damage as he learns to walk and move his right arm/hand again.

All of this will take time and unwavering dedication. Until Mana is well, we both will be exclusively caring for Mana and administering the hourly treatments he requires.

All funds will go directly to supporting us Heal Mana.
