Leslie Jones Timani Medical and Financial Needs

Family is often who you choose. Having said that, years ago, I, chose Ashley Jones Shedden as my sister and therefore, her people have always been my people. I don’t remember far enough back to recall anything that didn’t include Ashley, her husband Scott and their boys, her parents, Tracy and Chrissy Rust, or her sister Leslie or her brother, Christopher and some of the extended family. Y’all, they have been through the ringer these past couple of months and are in dire need of help.

My pseudo little sister, Leslie Jones Timani, at age 40, had a brain aneurysm on July 25th with a subsequent stroke after brain surgery. One moment, she was on the phone with Ashley, with a headache, and the next she was in the hospital, facing life saving surgery. To say it was a complete shock, is an understatement. Miracle of all miracles, she survived, thank God, but that was just the beginning. She is now unable to walk, talk or feed herself without assistance. She cannot move the right side of her body, and she is blind in her right eye. She is missing the entire left side of her skull due to brain swelling and she has to wear a helmet to protect her brain. She also has a feeding tube, that we pray is only temporary. She is going to need intensive rehabilitation to regain some motor skills, and a ton of prayers to conquer the coming days.

Leslie has two daughters, Hannah 16 and Halle 13, that are her whole world. She is very involved in the girls’ softball, travels all over the country for their tournaments, and is also heavily involved in their schools. She loves her girls fiercely, as they do her. Though she’s changed, you can still see the twinkle in her eyes at the sight and touch of them. You should see the tenderness when she caresses their sweet faces. Her girls’ lives have been forever changed with this devastating and life altering tragedy.

Leslie is the kindest soul. She is funny, quick witted and super loyal. She has always sworn that she could throw a football 50 yards and we hope we can get her to the point she can finally prove it!

This is a fundraiser for her immediate medical and financial needs and to help soften the blow to these precious people. Leslie and her family are pretty private people, but I really believe that people are wonderful, they love them and want to help, they just need to know how. So, that’s why I’m lead to share this information. Anything is greatly appreciated.
