DVT PE Awareness In Honor of Leslee Marlow
Donation protected
A Message from Kim: My mom meant everything to me. She was the most caring and unselfish person. She had a wonderful ability to spread laughter and joy to everyone around her. She was so supportive of every step of my life and I couldn’t imagine raising Sasha for his first two years without her help. She was my best and closest friend, who I could tell everything and anything to. Everything I do going forward will be with her in mind and heart.
A Message from Tiffani: I am beyond blessed to be able to call my mom my best friend. She made everything special and magical. She was the orchestrator of memories, a supporter of all my endeavors, first to celebrate my achievements, gave unselfishly, and was always there to hold my hand during hardships. She truly led by example and loved wholeheartedly. You will always be my everything and always in my heart.
What happened and what we want to achieve here:
Leslee's passing was due to Pulmonary Embolism or PE caused by Deep Vein Thrombosis or DVT. This happens when a blood clot that is formed deep within the veins, usually in the legs, breaks loose and travels into the Pulmonary artery. It is presumed the main reason she was affected was that she was spending so much time sitting while working from home. We take some relief in knowing this happened in her sleep and without pain.
We all know how big her heart was and we want to continue her legacy of love and charity by rallying behind promoting the awareness of DVT and Blood Clots.
Blood clots kill an average of 274 Americans every single day. When doing our research we were astounded by how common this is. Spreading the word and promoting awareness is so vital right now, especially during these times when so many people are working from home and less active than normal.
Please join us in making a difference, either with your time in spreading awareness about blood clot prevention and/or a donation. We will be donating 100% of proceeds collected here to organizations that promote DVT and related blood clot issues, such as the National Blood Clot Alliance. Either action will help make an impact. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
Again, we are doing our due diligence and researching various organizations that help spread awareness and make a difference. One of the organizations we have started to follow is the National Blood Clot Alliance, which advocates advancing prevention, early diagnosis and successful treatment of blood clots, clotting disorders, and clot-provoked deaths through public awareness, advocacy, and patient and professional education.
