Late at night Leo Asuncion whispers in his daughter Edna's ear, "It's time to rest now". On January 19. 2016, a good man, father of four and former Vietnam Veteran passed away. Leo Asuncion, age 86, after his short and arduous fight with cancer. He was a loving father, military veteran and honorable man.
After leaving the Philippines, Leo was drafted into the U.S. Navy, and then returned home until eventually settling down to live a simple life in Manteca, CA., was survived by his four children, Edna/Lester/Lorne & Leonard whom all currently reside in California.
Leo lived a modest life and the medical expenses and funeral arrangements are an enormous financial burden. We are all coming together to ensure a dignified remembrance for Leo Asuncion. We are immensely grateful to the Veterans organization that was able to cover a small portion of the expenses. We want our father to be laid to rest without inflicting financial hardship on those who are saying goodbye.
We have been overwhelmed by the number of loved ones and friends who have offered moral support. If you are interested in donating to help the family fund Leo Asuncion’s medical expenses and funeral service, you may do so here. We are endlessly grateful for the love and support we have received from each and every one of you. The abundance of compassion that we have felt is truly an example of human goodness in its purest form. We love each and every one of you.
