Lemonade - Fundraiser for Beyond Blue & Black Dog Institute
Donation protected
Lemonade is a song I’d almost convinced myself I wouldn’t release.
One of a number of songs written during a long dark period ‘Lemonade’ represents a time of my life that I’ve tried hard to move beyond. It was only with the encouragement of Guy Lilleyman at Amberly Studios that I came to gradually change my perspective toward the song and come around to the idea that the best way to move on from a feeling is to bring it out into the light.
At its core, Lemonade is about the relentless cycle of rumination and self-talk that comes along with depression, the repetition of thought, the desperate yearning for change. I hope people will also see that it’s a song about persistence, resilience, finding strength through pain and speaking out.
All proceeds from the song will go to Beyond Blue and the Black Dog Institute, two organisations that provide support and vital services for people living with depression and anxiety. Proudly supporting Black Dog Institute and Beyond Blue by donating 100% of song sales via bandcamp and donations via gofundme.
If you're struggling with your mental health you can find support at Beyond Blue , the Black Bog Institute or via lifeline by calling: 13 11 14.
