Hi, my name is Leah. I'm an amputee and I haven't been able to walk since 2022. I had a massive blood clot through a large portion of my body, which wasn’t treated in time so my leg wasn’t able to be saved.

I tried to use a socket prosthetic but wasn’t able to for many reasons, including residual complications from the clot, issues with my bone painfully smashing along the inside of the socket, and fitting problems. This year, I'm having osseointegration surgery so I’ll finally be able to walk again. I had the first surgery in April and the second one is only two weeks away! The x-ray I’ve included is of my OPRA implant in my femur which will connect with the prosthetic using this thing called an Axor connector.

I’m asking for your help because my health insurance doesn't want to pay for two really important prosthetic leg parts that I need: the axor connector which is $6,011 and a prosthetic foot which is $5,770. Please help me pay for these parts of my prosthetic that insurance is saying will not be covered. Any assistance you can provide helps and I’m so appreciative. I just want to be able to walk again!!
