Everett “Lee” Stover Celebration of Life

Sadly, earlier this evening, I received a phone call from the County of Charleston, SC, telling me my dad's body was found late last week behind some abandoned houses. He was partially covered and yard debris was scattered around his body. As of now, it’s an open homicide investigation. According to the coroner, he was visibly unrecognizable and died possibly due to blunt force trauma of some kind. No wallet or identification was found with his body. Based on the records, they’ve been able to know his last known date alive was around the beginning of October. I last spoke to him via FaceTime on August 14th and sadly just a few weeks later I ignored (not intentionally) an incoming call from him not knowing that would be the last time he would ever call me! Needless to say, he didn’t require a lot due to living a much simpler life. However, I wasn’t expecting to be my dad's only child, let alone his immediate next of kin. Sadly, I don’t have funds available even for just a simple cremation. My dad didn’t have a big family besides me, he is survived by his mother and a brother. He didn’t want fancy things; he just wanted to live freely! Please, if you're able to help, even with just $1, anything is appreciated from the bottom of my broken heart! Dad, I’m so sorry your life was taken by the hands of another. I pray justice will come and will be served to those involved in your brutally senseless murder! I’m sorry you were left there for so long before being found. I’ll do my best to honor your life as I know how… I’m at a loss for words other than until we meet again, I love you, Dad.
