On December 22, 2016 our beloved Lee Lee suffered a traumatic brain injury after a horseback riding accident. After spending nearly 2 months in the ICU battling numerous complications from her injury, Lee Lee was moved to a Bryn Mawr Rehabilition Hospital where she has recieved round the clock care from an incredible team of doctors and nurses. Eventually at the end of August 2017, after nearly 8 months in treatment, Lee Lee now attends physical, speech, occupational and recreational outpatient therapy from home. In true Lee Lee fashion, she has never ceased to inspire us with her incredible sense of resilience and strength in her journey to overcoming her injuries.
While she has made so much progress, Lee Lee continues to require round the clock care and endless love and support from her family and friends. A wheelchair accessible house, van, home nursing support and daily therapy are just a few of the things that Lee Lee will need that cannot be covered by insurance.
On December 2, 2017 nearly a year after Lee Lee's accident, Devin Tracy and myself, Lindsay Harrington, are choosing to honor Lee Lee's courageous climb to recovery in our own climb to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Over a 7 day climb, we will be gaining 13,622ft and walking over 65km in honor of Lee Lee's incredible strength and determination.
In order to meet our goal of raising $3000 Devin and I are asking our friends and family to each donate $65 in honor of the 65km we are climbing. 100% of these donations will go to the Cordelia Elizabeth Jones Support Trust and will serve to alleviate a small portion of the burden of Lee Lee's medical expenses for her family. Please consderer making a donation today.
Devin and I will be streaming videos and photos from our climb on our YouTube channel and through our social media accounts. Stay tuned and follow along on our journey to summit! #LeeLeeStrong #TeamLeeLee
