My name is Nycal and I'm one of hundreds, if not thousands of people whose life has been touched by Leah Dortch. On behalf of a committee of concerned loved ones, I have created this campaign to ensure that Leah's inner light continues to shine as brightly as possible while she fights for her life against liver cancer.
The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases estimates the annual costs of care for liver cancer is $59,995. Even uder the Affordable Care Act (ACA), these expenses would cripple most families. When you add to that the costs of raising 2 incredible teenagers, it could seem an almost impossible effort. However, If you have been afforded the opportunity to know Leah as a family member, friend, mentor, mentee, colleague or volunteer, you know her "can do" spirit in the face of a so called "mission impossible". It is in celebration of that very spirit that we ask you to join us in fighting for Leah's life against cancer.
Your contribution will help to afford the costs of critical medical, nutritutional, physical and mental health treatments. In addition, you will help create the safety net needed to support her children while their mom fights this battle. This is our chance to give back a little of the light Leah has shined into our lives.
