We're League of Our Own.
On 1st May 2025, the FA banned trans women from all levels of football in England but we weren't going to accept this. Members of South London football teams came together to figure out a way to oppose the ban and still enjoy competitive football but without the backing of FA funds, this was going to be difficult.
But we did it anyway!
We created a League of Our Own.
This league has been created to provide a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for women and non-binary people to play football. But it's not just about the football, this is a community, a show of solidarity and a positive protest against the FA bans.
At League of Our Own, we strongly believe football is for everyone and we'll keep it that way! No FA affiliation, no exclusionary bans, just football, community and fun but we need your help.
Any support is incredibly gratefully received and all money raised goes towards:
- pitch hire
- equipment costs
- subsidised league spaces for low or no income players
- running community events and fundraising events
