I always think, what if each of my friends and acquaintances gave up ONE dollar? Or maybe Two dollars.. Three.. Four.. Five? The answer is that it would add up quickly to a large amount and could be an unimaginable gift for someone in great need. I can honestly admit, and I hope you can too, I am able to spare $5.

I'd like to ask you, my friends, please take a couple minutes to read a little story and if it happens to move you, please take a couple minutes more to share your support. If you personally, are unable to support monetarily, maybe you know someone who can.

I have started a GoFundMe for Lauren Loveless, a friend with a very special place in my heart.

She is a true nurturer. Loving, kindhearted, committed, hardworking and completely selfless with a tendency to place others’ needs above her own.

She is a daughter to be proud of, the oldest of 5 children, irreplaceable wife to one of my best friends, a mother of two sweet babies and the glue holding everyone together as they watch their dad and papa struggle for his life.

Lauren makes the 100 mile round trip to the hospital every day that she is able. With that comes the most obvious expense, gas. With the length of time that has passed and the amount of time ahead you can factor in oil changes, repairs and many other costs that she is facing and will face. I'd love to see us pull together and help Lauren get to her dads bedside as often as she can. To hold his hand, comfort and encourage him as she does best.

I have asked Lauren to share their story so those of you who have wondered can be filled in, updated and motivated to help out.

"On Sunday June 7th, my Dad (DeAbel Reyes) went into Banner Ironwood 's Emergency Room, thinking he pulled a muscle in his leg. After examination they couldn't find anything and sent him home with pain killers. By Tuesday night(June 9th) he was delusional and not sleeping. Wednesday morning, June 10, his girlfriend took him back to the ER. After another examination the doctors began treating him for septic shock and air evaced him to Good Sams in Phoenix. At first they felt he wasn't stable enough for surgery and thought he had some sort of poisoning and were treating his kidneys which were in failure. By that night they had him intubated. On Thursday, June 11, from 2:00pm to 2:30pm they had checked his leg and his skin had began to blister and die. They decided that surgery was the only option at that point to save his life. He was diagnosed with Necrotizing Fasciitis. Every word they said at this point seemed foreign. Friday, June 12, they took him in for another surgery. The surgeons came out to tell us they believed the infection was spreading and at this point we were unsure of what was to happen to him . Things seemed to be spiraling, every thought was going through our heads. We had to make a call to have our brother flown home for an emergency leave from the Army. Every day was different. Surgery after surgery, hour to hour or day to day, everything begin to just run along into a longer day. June 23rd I had to sign consent to have his leg amputated. Luckily, the surgery was 20 minutes long and they didn't feel amputation was needed. They felt the infection was finally gone. Now that the infection was taken care of he was in multiple organ failure. At this time we found the truth of his liver, he was diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the Liver. 10th surgery was a skin graft and everything seemed to be looking up. July 3rd, after 23 days of being intubated they were able to take the tube out and we were finally able to talk to our dad. His voice was weak and he was confused. Still on continuous dialysis and in liver failure. July 16th, he was moved to a new room still on ICU and decided to try to take him off continous dialysis and try a sled dialysis. July 20th, we hit a rough spot where he had a fever of 103. They had to increase his blood pressure medication and put him back on continuous dialysis. 6 weeks in ICU with no change as far as his organs go, if anything they have only gotten worse. Still dillusional and having to be reminded of what happend every time he wakes up. July 23rd was the next step in skin graft surgery, surgery number 11! Leg looked good and they surgeon felt if he's stable enough for the final skin graft which comes from his own skin then our last surgery would be in 2-3 weeks."

..As you can imagine, expenses add up to large amounts, quickly. Please do what you are able. Pray. Donate. Share this story.

Thank you all in advance & We will start it off with $100.
