Laura's Karma

Where do you find the words to describe those selfless people that literally will do anything for anyone? And the words to describe a person whose loyalty and love is so fierce and strong that it literally lights the way in the dark? Do you find these words in the dictionary? Through a Google search? Nope you find the words through actions like those of our walking miracle, Laura. Laura would literally give you the shoes off her feet and if she had already given them to someone she would heave you on her back and carry you where you needed to go (even if you were kicking and screaming, esp if momma Laura thought it was best for you). Never once seeking repayment or a thank you or the spotlight or glory. I've seen Her protect people from obnoxious customers at the 13th gate, I've seen her bring food and drinks for people knowing the long hours at the haunted house, I've see her stretch her tight budget so that she could help someone else, I've see her literally light dark hallways and provide light in the darkness physically and metaphorically. How do you say thank you? How do you help the good karma find it's way to people like Laura? This is a question that has been burning in my heart since Laura suffered a traumatic brain injury in early March. Laura is a walking, talking (Thank God! WhT would we have done without that sassy, witty banter?!?!) miracle. Since March Laura has spent time recovering from massive brain surgery. She is working hard at learning how to speak and write and read all over again. Yet, Every time I visit her she has a smile on her face. Laura is currently recovering at home and seeking therapy several times a week along with numerous Drs. As her team works to manage both pain and the chronic headaches that have been consistent since the injury, Laura is pushing herself to be back up to par so she can work the 13th hate in Oct. Laura's bed is old and has a dip in it and because of this it makes it extremely uncomfortable for her to lay on it. Due to the financial hardships the brain injury has caused, Laura is currently recovering on the sofa. This is where we come in. Id love to see all of us be able to send Laura's good karma her way and help them get a bed that she can rest, relax and reboot her brain. Laura is working really hard to learn lots of skills we take for granted and Id love for her to have a comfortable place to rest and rejuvenate. So take a miute and remeber a time when Laura helped you and pay it forward and lets get Laura the recharge station she so deserves along with help with any additional assistance she may need in her recovery process.
