Laura Fights Cancer
Let's Support Laura in Her Breast Cancer Fight!
My name is Michelle (Renee) and Laura H is my best friend. We met in 2015 and I've never known more loyalty.
When Laura confirmed her diagnosis of breast cancer at the end of July (2020), I knew what I had to do: I'm here to rally the troops, call in the village, gather the community.
Laura, at 32, is the proudest mother of two beautiful children. In the 5 years I've known Laura, I've witnessed her strength when faced with challenges. Breast cancer is now the biggest challenge on her plate. I have no doubt she can come out on top of this too.
Laura can't do this alone and even if she could, she shouldn't have to. This is going to be a long process, healing her body. There are lots of things we can do to support her. We can help with the kids, deliver meals, accompany her to appointments. We can also share our monetary gifts with her.
She's a single mom supporting two kids... without a partner. I can't even begin to know how scary this all is for her. There isn't someone who can take on the financial burden while she fights. It's all on her... but it doesn't have to be. They say it takes a village... we can be her village. It's time for her community to rally around her and show her we are here to help carry the weight.
I won't tell you how to support Laura. But how every you decide, I would gently remind you to circle back and do it again, monthly if you can. This is going to be a long road. She's looking at treatment lasting into 2022. Let's keep Laura centered in our hearts and work together to make this even just a little bit easier for her to bear.
P.S. - Our friend Rizza recently closed a fundraiser to get Laura some hair! It was wildly successful! Thank you!
