Hi! And welcome on our crowdfunding website.
We are a trust who sail with kids and teenagers from all sorts of backgrounds. They join for either 10 days or 6 months but either way they come back full of new skills and insights that our journeys are able to give them.
So basically we offer intensive development programs for kids and teens while exploring the world! Of course the more people donate/sponsors or help us otherwise the cheaper we can make our programs and the more kids we are able to help.
We are currently sailing on a Scorpio 72, she is almost 20meters long and has space for 8 kids/teens and 4 crew.
However this boat is more than 30 years old and needs a lot of maintenance to keep her running and of course safe!
We designed & drew a 24 meter sailing ship specifically with the purpose to sail with kids, that may or may not have sailed before. The ship will be tough, have many bunks, be very seaworthy, but mostly she will be the beginning of a new life for many.
So she is a little bigger then our current yacht, has a bit more space but more important will be cheaper to run when build and give us many more abilities of places to sail to as she will also well insulated, have a nice wheelhouse and some more storage for equipment needed on longer voyages and expeditions.
Now I’m looking for sponsors and people to help me get this ship under the feet of the kids and teens that deserve the kind of life lessons she will be able to teach!
We will need 300,000,- euro to finish the casco of the ship, this means the hull and deck ready to be put in the water for completion of the rest of the ship.
A little note about myself:
In 2010 I started out on a dream I had had for many years, one I had to fight for, very very hard.
I set off to sail around the world on my own at age 14 and successfully finished my trip at 16 years of age.
I've heard often from people coming back from a big journey that they felt lost, not knowing where to go next. For me it was the complete opposite, I felt like I had gained the buildings blocks I needed to start my life during the journey and was bound for more.
By now I've sailed more then 80,000 NM still counting, I am a motivational speaker, author, traveller, mother, yacht skipper and still chasing my dreams :)
On the ocean I learned to stop fighting against everything, life isn't always fair and neither are the waves and the wind always doing what I want them to do. But there is no point in fighting, you can't change it, so I learned to make the best of it and accept the situation as it is - to be happy with what I have at the moment, to respect and appreciate my surroundings. The ocean also thought me the extreme fulfillment one can get from fighting trough hard times and coming out stronger on the other end. I gained more self confidence, I learned a lot about myself, I had time to think - having no distractions from the mainland ;) And these are just some of the wonderful gifts the oceans and the people I met along the way gave me.
This trip is the reason why I do what I do now - I know the value of it firsthand - and have seen it happen to other to :)

I sailed around the world alone, but without the endless hours of work my dad, family, friends & sponsors put in I could have never done it.
And so I see this new project also.
Interest for potential sponsors is to have company name on the sailing gear, sails etc depending on their investment of course.
We can offer advertisement in blogs, interviews and on the website - we're also open to find other ways in which we can help benefit the company in question while the project evolves.
