Help me pay for housing as an out of state student

Hello everyone,

I am reaching out to you in a time of desperate need. I am a first-generation college freshman from a low-income family, and I am currently facing a critical situation that threatens my ability to continue my education.

I am an out-of-state student and I am late on my registration fee because I need $5000 to pay for my housing. This semester marks the beginning of my college journey, and I am determined to succeed despite the financial challenges I face.

As a full Pell grant recipient, I am grateful for the support I have received, but unfortunately, it is not enough to cover the cost of housing. I am unable to take out loans, and neither I nor my parent. We don’t have any co-signers to help alleviate this financial burden.

The thought of having to drop out of college due to financial constraints is devastating. It would be a setback for me as I’ve always believed in the power of education to change my circumstances. Compounding the issue is the fact that I cannot go back home at this time. My home environment is unfit, and returning is not a viable option. Additionally, transferring to another institution in the middle of the semester is not feasible. I am doing everything in my power to address this situation. I have reached out to my school for assistance, but unfortunately, they are unable to provide the support I desperately need. My balance is as low as possible, and time is running out.

Moving off-campus is not an option for me either. I simply do not have the resources or trustworthy individuals to live with in the area. However, I am committed to taking proactive steps to prevent this situation from happening again in the future.

I intend to apply to become a Resident Assistant (RA) to help cover housing costs and provide support to other students facing similar challenges in my future semesters. I am humbly asking for your support to help me stay in college and continue pursuing my dreams. Your generous donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in my life. If you are unable to contribute financially, sharing my story with others would be greatly appreciated.
